OGMS 6th grade teacher, Beth Hall, was recently
chosen Lamar County School District's Middle School
Mentor Teacher of the Year. She was nominated by
first year teacher Lynn Lewis and will be honored at
the district's teacher recognition banquet on April
12.
In her written nomination of Mrs. Hall, Ms. Lewis
said that her mentor has been enthusiastic and
supportive, has given her strategies to overcome her
nervousness at the beginning of the school year, has
shared materials and information as they planned
effective lessons together, and has demonstrated
concern for her outside the classroom. Ms. Lewis
said of their mentor/mentee relationship, "She has
never made me feel inferior. I have often had to ask
her questions. Her responses are always helpful and
never condescending. I truly believe that she has my
best interest at heart!"
The administrative team at OGMS is very proud of
both Mrs. Hall and Ms. Lewis. Ms. Lewis's progress
as a first year teacher under Mrs. Hall's guidance
is proof that the mentorship program is a valuable
one. Thanks to both of these ladies for their hard
work and dedication. |
