In an effort to help students and faculty become healthier, OGMS nurse Misty Cooper, RN, plans to have a regular column in the Warrior Word. The focus is on the top 10 brain foods for adolescents. ( WebMD By Jeanie Lerche Davis)

  1. Salmon- essential for brain growth and function
  2. Eggs- Helps memory development
  3. Peanut butter- protects nervous membranes
  4. Whole grains- nourishes a healthy nervous system
  5. Oats/ oatmeal- makes our brains function at full capacity
  6. Berries- my help prevent cancer
  7. Beans- keeps a child’s memory at a peek
  8. Colorful veggies- keeps brain cells strong and healthy
  9. Milk and yogurt- preferred source of energy for the brain
  10. Lean beef- helps kids stay energized and concentrated
