Caleb and Matt, two 7th grade
Language Arts students from Oak Grove Middle School,
are collaborating to work on a yearlong community
service project involving reading to elementary
children.
 
The boys will be sharing their
storytelling expertise with all five of Ms. Ashley
Barefoot's 2nd grade Excel classes every nine weeks.
This past nine weeks they each read a story by
Maurice Sendak to the classes and they are currently
working on selecting their next book to be shared.
The last nine weeks of the school
year, they will share books they wrote and
illustrated to the classes. Caleb and Matt enjoyed
sharing their first story pick with the classes and
are looking forward to continuing their work on this
project
 .
