Melody Hicks Members of the
7th Grade Apache Team at OGMS won the "Teams That
Make a Difference" Award at the MAMLE (Mississippi
Association for Middle Level Education) convention
recently held in Jackson on February 3rd and 4th.
Criteria for the award were:

Advancement of middle level
philosophy in school and/or community

Building team identity/cohesion
-
Creative
interdisciplinary/integrated curriculum planning

Student recognition, service
projects and/or special team activities
-
Specific activities designed to
meet the social, physical, intellectual and
emotional needs of young adolescents.

Promotion of parent involvement
The 7th grade has 3 teaching teams
because the enrollment for that grade is nearly 500.
All of the teams have Indian names since the mascot
for OGMS is a warrior. |
