Accelerated Reader is a program where students read books and
take short computer quizzes after reading the books to check their
comprehension. All students in the sixth grade are required to
read a number of AR books each semester and take the
accompanying tests. Percentage goals and point goals are
established for each nine weeks based upon individual reading
levels. Every child's reading range and goals for the nine
weeks are recorded in their planners. Please contact your
child's teacher if you have any questions about this program. Accelerated Reading counts for two test grades in
Language Arts for each nine weeks.
With the addition of the Enterprise version of AR, Oak Grove
Middle School students have access to over 100,000 tests in a
wide variety of topics with new ones being added everyday. Most
book covers will tell you if the book you are browsing is an
Accelerated Reader book. You can also search for a book using
AR Bookfinder.
